CUBAO X PEEPS RUINED MY CHRISTMAS

The most unfortunate thing happened last December 19 during Holiday Madness Bazaar. My beloved Nikon D40, Toto was stolen.

I am writing about this just now because I'm still recovering from the trauma that I have experience that day.

So around 8:00 p.m. while we were busy entertaining customers, someone took my camera. I was talking to a "guy" customer asking about bags and dresses which I found a little fishy. Then I heard something fall on the ground. It was a lens cap. I was going to pick it up to give it to the guy and then I realized that it was my camera. I immediately ran after him and shouted "Guard, Guard! Camera ko! White T-shirt!"

Our booth was located at the latter part of Cubao Expo so it took him some time to approach the exit. By the time he comes near the exit, everyone heard me shouting. But to my dismay, no one tried to stop him! Not even one person! I followed him even outside Cubao Expo. But I decided to stop when I lost sight of him and realized I ran too far and it will be too dangerous to go on.

On my way back, I saw my friend who followed me. She was in tears. She was so worried that something might have happened to me. I might have been stabbed or something. Thank God I'm safe.

When we arrived back at Cubao Expo I was so furious because no one helped me. Not even one of the "so-called men" standing near the exit. Until now, I cannot understand why they just stood there frozen. Maybe they don't have the balls for it, or they're stupid or they know that person who stole my camera and was trying to protect him.

And the "so-called guard" whose job is to protect us didn't do anything. When my friend asked him to accompany her because she wanted to make sure I was safe, he didn't move a muscle. Another one without the balls.

So to make the long story short, I was frustrated because I would have retrieved my camera from the 15 year old boy who I hope goes to jail or gets to know Jesus before he does more stealing stint. But the people of Cubao Expo, the community of Artists striving for a better Philippines did not nothing to protect one of their own. Well not really not one of their own. I almost joined the community, glad I was awaken by that incident.

Some wardrobe updates.

I wore the military inspired look last, last Friday when we practiced for the Glitter Tattoo Application. Key pieces for this outfit, the military green polo, green aviators and the brown leather studded belt.

I got these boots last month but I got to wear them just now. I had the heel repaired first. By the way, this is from a Japanese brand.

This next outfit was worn during our breakfast date last, last Saturday. I also got the pink knitted top online. I love the cute details on the shoulders. My sister hates it though :) I paired it with my favorite lace-up pink heels, another online buy.

Happy 9 Part 2

As you all know, its our monthsary last Saturday. Unfortunately we weren't able to spend the whole day together. I needed to be with my family to clean our new house in Cainta and he needed to go to Muntinlupa to teach drum lessons and practice for the worship service. Anyway, we managed to start the day together and grabbed a breakfast at Pancake House.

We had continental breakfast, choco marble waffle, brewed coffee and capuccino. I really enjoy eating here. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :)

Glitter Love

So last weekend as part of our sideline, we did our Glitter Tattoo at the kid's party. Naturally, we had to practice so that we can deliver well. So last Friday we practiced applying Glitter Tattoo at Starbucks.

It was so cool. Haha. We all had glitter tattoo on our hand. :)

FASHION DIY: Chain Strap

Anyway last week, I went thrift-shopping. Yes, you're right. I wasn't able to meet my goal again. I was so stressed out that night that I had to put my mind on other things, hence thrift-shopping came in handy. Anyway, I got this super cute yellow sandals with zipper detail. I've been on the hand for yellow shoes and I loved the zipper detail so I went crazy and bought it right away without checking it for drastic damages.

So when I got home, I saw that the strap of the other shoe is gone. I was a bit sad but after contemplating about it I got so excited. So what did I do to change this misfortune? I changed the leather strap to ribbon and chains strap.

This was inspired by Lanvin's S/S 2010 Collection.

Inspiration Necklace

I'm sure most of you have watched Sex and the City 1. There was this scene in the movie when John and Carrie were in their bed reading a book. What about that scene? Yah it was nice that she quoted heart-melting love poems but what caught my attention was the necklace she was wearing. It was a long strand of pearls and she wore it to bed.

Ever since I noticed that scene I said to myself, I'm going to do that too. Now, even if I'm just at home wearing just a loose shirt and shorts, I'm going to wear a pearl necklace. :) Well, not all the time of course. I wear them only when I'm working on my project. Like last night, I was working on my shoe project, I decided to wear the long pearls with long chain necklaces in gold and silver. My mom noticed it and joked about it.

I love wearing them because it sort of gives me an inspiration while I'm doing my arts and crafts. How about you, what do you wear to get you all inspired?

Put a ring on it

I remember dancing to this song last year when we did our presentation for our office Christmas party.

The line, "If you lied it you should have put a ring on it" has been famous since.

Last night while Jeff and I were strolling inside Market! Market! with our couple friend, they dragged us to Marry Me. Obviously that stores sells wedding rings and engagement rings. Anyway we were browsing together the wedding rings section when Cristina pulled me to her side and showed me the engagement ring section. One ring caught my eye. Its just a dainty white gold ring with a round-cut diamond. I tried it on and I love how elegant and simple it looks. Too bad I wasn't able to take a picture of it. Cristina immediately asked for a calling card from the lady and she asked her to write down the ring model and price. She then gave it to Jeff. That was so funny. I'm excited to get a ring like that but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Anyway while I was browsing the blogs here online, I saw this specific site abroad that sells unique and inexpensive engagement rings. The name of the store is Turtle Love Committee.

My beau joked me last night that he would propose to me abroad. Then I thought, it would be cool if he proposed while we are riding a gondola in Italy. Hehehe.. Actually I would love anything he would prepared because he is far more important to me than those fancy things.

Busy Weekend

How was your weekend?
Mine was pretty jam-packed. So here's a low-down of what I did.

Friday Night
Jeff and I practiced how to apply Glitter Tattoo with our couple friends/ business partners Joe and Cristina. Then we had chitchat and coffee at Starbucks and Kopi Roti.

Saturday Morning
Jeff and I had a late breakfast at Pancake House to celebrate our Monthsary. We then parted ways. He had to go and teach drum lessons. He also had rehearsals for the Sunday Service. I on the other hand went to Cainta with my family to clean our new home. We also visited our Lolo there.

Saturday Night
Jeff and I ate dinner with my family. We were supposed to watch 2012 but the theater was so jam-packed

Sunday Lunch
After the morning service, Jeff and I had lunch with our family at ATC. We then headed to Sanctuario de San Antonio near Forbes for the Baptismal Photography. After that, we headed to Serendra with my sister for the Birthday Photography.

Sunday Night
We decided to hang out after with Cristina and Joe. We went shopping, mall hopping and had coffee.

I'll post separate entries for these with photos. I can't do it right now because the card reader is busted. :)

I've mention to you guys before that I am doing Birthday Photography and I have a booking this weekend. Levon will have his baptismal and first birthday this weekend. I'm so excited. I just love doing Kids photography. Anyway, the them of the party is pirates. I'm not required to wear a costume but I'm thinking of following the theme. I searched online some style inspirations but of course I want to keep it low key. I'm thinking of making my own embellished eye patch. I'll probably wear a black and white striped top or topper.

Well just to educate you Sunshines, Swarovski is a brand and they use Austrian Crystals. Crystal Catx also uses Austrian Crystals. So go figure!

SHOE PHOTOGRAPHY

I had an interview with CBRE last week. It went pretty well. As you all know, one of the most asked question during and interview is: "What are your hobbies?" Of course photography tops my list. So when asked what field of photography I like best, I answered Travel Photography. I just love landscapes and sceneries. Anyway, I also mentioned still life. When asked what subject I like to photograph the most, my answer-- SHOES!

Haha...

Last night I photographed my recent buy. I'll tell you more about it in a separate post. Unfortunately I can't post the photo of that specific shoe because its at my home PC and I'm blogging at work right now. Usually I have all the soft copy of my photos but my WD Passport has been busted for a month now. Anyway, I feel like posting my previous shots of my other shoes. :) Enjoy!

Bunny Love

The face of this bunny reminds me of my late bunny Mac :(. I miss him so much. I am pouring all my love on my other bunny Cara. I glad he finally recovered from the lost of a life partner.

Here's their photo when they were still babies. Mac is the one with the white mark on the forehead.
Disclaimer: My bunnies are not gay. Hehe... I just feel like I have to defend. It just that the seller at Bio Research mistakenly gave me 2 male bunnies instead of 1 male and 1 female. Anyway, I love them both.

Off-Season Shopping

Winter is almost here!

Well actually, we don't have it here in the Philippines.

Let me rephrase that.

Chrismtas is almost here!

You know what that means. Hello to breezy weather. I just love the Christmas weather. Its cold but minus the rain. A few months ago I started buying different types of coats-- pea coats, trench dresses, double breasted jackets, and etc. Finally, I get to wear them more often.

So what do I do now? I shop for shades and other summer items :)

I have been doing off-season shopping for several years now. Why? It saves me lots of cash. Actually I don't save cash. I just get more items out of my money. Haha.

So right now I'm in the hunt for Black Sunnies. I saw the Lanvin sunnies that Daphne owns and I'm so envious of it.

Just a thought. Can I recreate something like it? Hmmm... We will see... ;)

Embracing my Wild Side

Hello Sunshine.

I was reading the issue of Preview last April and I saw a feature of the animal print trend. Then I realized that's one trend that I haven't really embraced. I think a bought a pair of leopard print sling-back which I wasn't able to wear for a long-time. When I hear the animal print trend the leopard and tiger print usually comes into my mind. I always forget that the zebra print exists and that its part of the trend. And now I realized that its the best animal print for me. Its simple and not to flashy. I'm adapting this print from now on hence the change in banner and signature.

Aside from my blog, I also want to incorporate this print on my wardrobe to add a little pizzaz to my current selection. I am considering getting a bag in this print. And when I'm feeling bolder, I'll probably grab a coat. I saw a zebra-print leggings a while ago but I don't think its the right one for me. Watch out as I hunt for the perfect piece.

Another attempt at fasting from shopping

I don't want to call it shopping fasting again. Two months ago I attempted to fast from shopping and its not successful at all.

Anyway, I've decided to dedicate this month in disciplining myself financially. My goals in not to spend any amount on shoes, bags and clothes (not to purchase them to be exact because I'll have two of my shoes repaired later) for the first 15 days of this month. If I surpass this, I can reward myself with a purchase of my choice. I am thinking of getting black studded flats to pair with the biker pants I bought last month. I have my eye on several other stuffs so I'm not so sure if regarding myself with one purchase will do. Why first 15 days? Its because I want to do it step by step. I got so used to shopping that its not healthy taking the habit away all at once. Goodness, I feel like someone with an addiction problem. Hehe..

Another thing, I wanted my next goal to be no shopping for a month but I realized its the Christmas season. You know what that means. Its season of shopping! So I changed my next goal. I should not buy anything for myself not unless I bought everything on my Christmas gift list for family and friends.

I hope I get my 13 month pay this month so that I can finish shopping for gifts by the first week of December which means I can shop for myself. Mwahahaha! :) Anyway, I intend to spend only half of the 13 month pay. I want to start saving open a passbook so that I won't be tempted to withdraw from that account because it will be too tedious.

Thanks for taking time to checkout my blog.

This is actually my third blog this year (fourth if you include my vintage store). My first blog, Style Economcis is about my personal style, fashion trends and bargain finds. My second blog, Queen of Sole is all about shoes. I love both of my blogs. So what made me decide to start this blog? Well, as I've mentioned in my other blog, I', a Christian. I just thought of using my passion for fashion to share my even bigger passion for Christ. I also realized that I should learn to become a more responsible blogger. And since most of the time, I go out with friends from church or I attend activities related to missions, I think it is only fitting to blog about serving the Lord in style. Christianity does not make anyone less fun or less stylish.
